Far from being limited to spending each day based in a lodge as is often the case with many sporting destinations, at Minaret Outfitters as part of the daily rate, non-hunting/angling guests have their own guides each day to tour them around the region while their companions are out pursuing their sporting interests. These guides have spent their whole lives in the Southern Lakes region and are able to show guests a personal side of New Zealand otherwise not experienced by most visitors.

Guests are met by their guides on the first evening and discuss their preferences to customise the upcoming days and activities. The options available in the region cover a huge diversity of both interests and levels physical exertion. The scenic beauty of the area is stunning and can be explored via 4x4 vehicle, helicopter, boat, horse or on foot.

Some of the attractions to explore in the Wanaka region include short bush walks, glacier hikes, luxurious day spas, award winning vineyards, scenic helicopter flights, gift shopping, high country farm tours, world class golf courses, fine dining and cafes, white water rafting and bungy jumping, historic museums and art galleries just to name a few.

Guests are then reunited with their spouses and friends back in the lodge at the end of the day to share each others experiences over drinks and a gourmet dinner!
